W. Murnau. The utilization of intertexuality in Shadow of the Vampire is a key angle which permits it to reverberate; subjects, the gothic mode and issues that are available in the other two writings. Through an unmistakable pastiche, Merhige produces another content from the old. Interminability is a key topic which has been sabotaged from the physical sense through sucking blood, as itââ¬â¢s spoke to in Dracula, to the otherworldly sense through workmanship by delivering an ideal film which will outlive and engage numerous ages. Bram Stoker utilizes numerous themes, for example, the; wafer, stake, cross and garlic blossoms to exhibit the Countââ¬â¢s everlasting status as these reoccurring images show the constrained articles that can free of a vampire, underscoring his quality and force. Despite the fact that these images are for the most part present and ceaseless in Shadow (ââ¬Ëcrosses arenââ¬â¢t for decorationââ¬â¢-resident says to Murnau), they donââ¬â¢t depict the interminability, rather Merhige utilizes film procedures to supplant the language strategies of Dracula. The zoom in of the camera is a model as it shows the profound articulation and edginess of Murnau to accomplish his ideal picture and adequately his eternality. Discourse and specific statements make his objective self-evident; ââ¬Ëour memory wonââ¬â¢t obscure or fadeââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëcontext that will last like the gravesââ¬â¢ and furthermore demonstrates his fixation to win eternality. Murnauââ¬â¢s fixation on his image in Shadow makes him transform into the frantic hero of the film and rather the entirety of our pitiful feelings become focused on Count Orlock, who is a poor and frail replication of the vampiristic picture set by Dracula1. In Dracula the hero (being the Count) additionally gets fixated on everlasting status and the female characters (Mina and Lucy) as he over and over visits them; the illegal love that Dracula has for these ladies adds to the dread and gothic sentiment of the novel. As the female characters become compromised and upset by the Count, they add to the thrilling and secretive air and draw in the peruser as they share comparable feelings; 2 the female character of Greta in Shadow is a reverberation of this pain as she is unwittingly influenced by the nearness of Orlock which makes her chance to tranquilize maltreatment to manage it (does too Murnau and the maker). Greta is additionally unconsciously being bothered by the camera itself which goes about as an image for a severe male hero which contains qualities of Dracula: her credulous remark; ââ¬Ëtheatre gives me life, this thing just takes it awayââ¬â¢, is a case of incongruity and furthermore portends future occasions and sentiments, for example, she subliminally knows it (like her different remarks) however as opposed to following up on it she again goes to medications to maintain a strategic distance from the reality. Murnauââ¬â¢s fixation is demonstrated by his readiness to utilize others as penances, most remarkably Greta as he makes an arrangement with Orlock for her life. The flashbacks of Greta (before she is taken care of upon) makes stun the watcher as the statements like; ââ¬Ëconsider it a penance for your artââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëmake a definitive penance for loveââ¬â¢ cause the feelings of: distress, ghastliness and energy to prosper as the watcher acknowledges Murnauââ¬â¢s aspiration from the beginning and its certainty. These statements are very much made instances of hinting and incongruity. His fixation on his craft is constantly appeared all through as he sets silly expectations and is handily irritated, for example, when the picture taker was chomped by Orlock, Murnau shouted; ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢lack of excitement, I advised you to fix itââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢. In Dracula penance is overwhelmingly rehearsed in a positive manner with the courageous gathering making numerous penances to at last arrive at their objective of obliterating Dracula; (be that as it may, this brave gathering is discarded in Shadow and is the essential explanation behind Murnauââ¬â¢s achievement). Arthur forfeits his adoration for Lucy to spare her spirit and his own, however thus he should murder her grimly; additionally, the men (Morris, Billington, Van Helsing and Seward) penance their blood in transfusions to keep Lucy alive. This is foreshadowed by Lucy as she recently shouted ââ¬Ëif no one but I could have them allââ¬â¢ when she was choosing her darling between these men; this gives the blood sexuality to it (sexual allusion) and this is a case of gothic sentiment with the nearness of adversary sweetheart and numerous admirers. This sexuality of the blood is available in statements, for example, ââ¬Ëthe young lady went on her kneesâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëaway with you, heââ¬â¢s mineââ¬â¢ and these show the decision and strengthening of the male characters in a man centric culture. The sexuality given to blood in Dracula is again unobtrusively reverberated into Shadow of the Vampire, with Orlockââ¬â¢s desire and distress for Greta being depicted in the sexual sense as he is given blood from bats and different sources all through the film yet none fulfilled him like Greta with him nodding off not long after to help the temperament with dark amusingness before the activity stuffed closure is stimulated. The strange environment that is clear in every one of the three writings is comparatively achieved through the use of marginally sabotaged gothic components and procedures. The unfilled and destroyed palace setting of Dracula is imperative to setting the first extraordinary/gothic tone that the novel proceeds all through: as appeared by Jonathan Harkerââ¬â¢s journal passages; ââ¬Ëthe mansion is an authentic jail and I am a detainee! what's more, ââ¬Ëdoors all over the place, bolted and boltedââ¬â¢. Furthermore, the situation of the château adds to the puzzle; ââ¬Ëjust on the outskirts of three statesâ⬠¦ bits of Europeââ¬â¢ as these names arenââ¬â¢t natural to us. Shadow of the Vampire consolidates this setting as; little rooms, caverns and a relinquished religious community are completely utilized in most of the film and the change of shooting from the grew west to the obscure and bizarre east (Helgoland). The two messages additionally utilize the dim of night to speak to the dim, extraordinary tone that each are setting: Stoker utilizes the sun as an image of security from abhorrent (the dim) and is obvious in remarks of Mina; ââ¬ËI continue holding up till the sunâ⬠¦ be to me a safetyââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëthat excellent sunâ⬠¦ life was to me againââ¬â¢. Shadow of the Vampire sets a large portion of its scenes in obscurity and utilizations pictures of the outlined moon and shadows along with ghostly mood melodies to cause the watcher to feel awkward and terrified like the characters. Shadow utilizes frequenting seems as though thunder and yelling in night scenes to give the powerful sense (similarly Nosferatu does); which is a reverberation of the sound to word imitation utilized by Stoker, for example, ââ¬Ëmuffled roarââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëhowling of dogsââ¬â¢. The two messages likewise utilize the gothic palette as a dominator of the hues utilized on the grounds that they give the feeling old enough (dark), threat (red) or insidiousness (dark) which are basic to the brisk moving temperaments as they insight to the crowd whatââ¬â¢s coming up straightaway. Generally speaking, the joining of a post-current style and the disruption and incorporation of topics, issues and gothic components from Nosferatu and Dracula were critical to the achievement and change of Shadow of the Vampire. The persistent accomplishment of this film is because of its magnificent portrayal of vampires and their tendency which can be obvious in cutting edge life and in the character of individuals; which has never been resembled as itââ¬â¢s so ââ¬Ëferociously originalââ¬â¢. utvebmapuzz1974http://www.blogger.com/profile/04987147996829275378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267738081802509167.post-20451438460264784232020-08-22T22:11:00.001-07:002020-08-22T22:11:33.253-07:00Football referees Literature review Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 wordsFootball refs - Literature audit Example On the off chance that great control needs and unadulterated disobedience rules, at that point no regard for the authorities can be ensured and arbitrators misuse can be normal absent a lot of thought. The conversation introduced beneath is fundamentally a push to feature the presence of disciplinary issues in the UK football while laying weight on the refs maltreatment by players and to what degree this maltreatment is influencing the arbitrators and their inclinations. The paper likewise features the means taken by the football officials to defeat the absence of order and coming about maltreatment from the football players in UK. Difference from the refereesââ¬â¢ choices because of absence of order: According to a games report by Taylor and Hytner (2008), the savage and resistant conduct appeared by Ashley Cole and his partners towards the match ref Sir Alex Ferguson (Scottish football chief) was too noteworthy to ever be neglected and has been the subject of much analysis among the UK open and whole world too. This situation presents a significant model when absence of order and regard in the UK football players is discussed. ... The report further lays weight on the effect of absence of control among the UK football players by referencing that another player named Grant likewise passionately couldn't help contradicting the choice of the match official Dean, who sent a midfielder player out of the field by excusing him in the main match that was managed by him. This activity of the match ref was immensely hated by the cooperative individuals who as opposed to concurring with the refereeââ¬â¢s choice as per the standards of the game, began mishandling the ref coarsely. It is a decent measure taken by Chelsea that Cole was along these lines rebuffed attributable to the way that he hassled the match official while taking steps to grab the red card from his hand. Pearce (refered to in Herbert, 2008) underlines that refs can commit errors too here and there and they ought to be endured by the players. Absence of union and congruity prompts difference among players and arbitrators: Wenger, originating from the f ootball club Arsenal has been cited as saying after a match that ââ¬Å"Our game needed union. I generally felt we could be punished.â⬠(refered to in Press Association, 2010). This additionally underpins the truth that control is inadequate in the UK football match-up and all the more significantly, among the football players. The UK football players have mysteriously built up a difficult feeling of challenging the vast majority of the choices taken by the match officials and a very advertised dramatization is made when a specific match arbitrator arranges any player to leave the field. Because of yellow or red card appeared by the arbitrator, all the colleagues regularly encompass the official and begin pressurizing him for reclaiming his choice. Along these lines, Minimalism had the option to cause to notice the space in which the work is appeared; this underscored the immediate commitment with the space and condition as a work in itself. From that point forward, Minimal Art has helped start a turn towards establishment rehearses, a training that has taken fifty years to rise. Insignificant Art is the place craftsmen made no endeavor to speak to an outside the real world. The specialists needed the onlooker to react to what was distinctly before them. The truth would be the type of the work and the medium or material that is utilized to make the work. Negligible Art surfaced as a reaction against activity painting, embraced by Abstract Expressionism that concentrated on enthusiastic power and individual readings as Minimalism absolutely depended on single or rehashed geometric structure, sequential examples, solid centralization of mechanical materials, and alongside outer elements of the onlooker and condition. Insignificant Art additionally tested and scrutinized the hypothesis against twentieth century American workmanship pundit Clement Greenberg, who likewise bolstered Abstract Expressionism that unassuming craftsmanship is an inside centered examination of the fundamental highlights of each different medium. He comprehended that advanced workmanship was medium explicit and accepted that in light of the fact that the historical backdrop of innovation included specialists investigating the exact idea of their medium, craftsmanship media ought not be blended. Both of these interruptions refered to turns for the act of Installation Art by permitting the breakdown of medium particularity and all it implied, just as the possibility that outer components of the onlooker and condition assume a job by they way we experience works of art. Establishment Art can be characterized as the arrangement of items in a specific setting so as to pass on a specific inclination, thought or experience. Through their situation, a relationship is made between the articles and the observer. This relationship changes the articles from their regular uses into being a piece of an exceptionally made encounter. Establishment workmanship was fundamentally an endeavor to give another significance to the old materials they truly broke the casings of artworks and freed them from the deep rooted customs of regular creation and survey of craftsmanship. They vandalized canvases, they carried discovered items to exhibitions, they shipped down models from the platforms with the goal that the historical center quality and along these lines the dictator nature of the workmanship was disregarded. Some of these ideas were utilized beforehand into the models by American Minimalist, Carl Andrã â ©, despite the fact that his aim was extraordinary. Above all else, he contradicted expressionist artistic creation and ideas by scrutinizing their thoughts through his work and deliberately ensured his works didn't mirror his own contacts or manual aptitudes. He saw the significance presented on the hand of the craftsman in the production of a work of art as an interruption from the workmanship object itself. Hence, rather he made items that were as unoriginal and impartial as could reasonably be expected, with the point that the onlooker ought to have a progressively unadulterated response to the craftsmanship object itself, taking a gander at the rawness and not the brain research. He accomplished this by carefully utilizing mechanical materials. He receives painterly configuration, and uses financially accessible materials or items that are genuinely cool, clear and mundane, quite often in indistinguishable units or bar structures, for example, timber, Styrofoam, concrete squares, parcels of roughage, and so on., with just one sort of material for each work. A case of this would be his presentation at the Tibor de Nagy Gallery in 1966. The craftsman masterminded eight rectangular figures on the display floor, each made of 120 indistinguishable fire blocks. Equal VII (1966) for the most part alluded to as The Bricks one of eight works, was made two blocks high, six across and ten the long way. .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a , .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .postImageUrl , .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .focused content zone { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a , .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:hover , .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:visited , .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:active { border:0!important; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a { show: square; progress: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-change: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; mistiness: 1; change: darkness 250ms; webkit-progress: obscurity 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:active , .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:hover { haziness: 1; progress: murkiness 250ms; webkit-change: mistiness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .focused content zone { width: 100%; position: relative; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content adornment: underline; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; text style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt range: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: striking; line-stature: 26px; moz-outskirt span: 3px; content adjust: focus; content enrichment: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-tallness: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: outright; right: 0; top: 0; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc 6804098b0baabc0a .focused content { show: table; stature: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u64188f51bb1eddcc6804098b0baabc0a:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Confucius And Confucianism EssayIn Aluminum-Zinc Dipole E/W (1989), two rectangular plates are put close to one another to frame a square. The crease that joins those runs either longitudinally or along the side, contingent upon the observers see. The contrasting loads of the zinc and aluminum plates and the distinctive obstruction of their surfaces to scratching makes strain between the two plates and along these lines, it adds a painterly piece to the shiny, blue surface. The exacting evenness of Aluminum-Zinc Dipole disparages Clement Greenbergs rules on unique compositions adherence to levelness. Since the model is level, and the volume has been abrogated, the work shows up as unadulterated material and mass. Moderate, and promoter essayist for Minimalism is Donald Judd. Judd turned out to be notable for smooth, boxlike developments made of mechanical materials, for example, compressed wood, sheet metal, and Plexiglas that were painted utilizing business procedures. Stacked, adjusted, cantilevered, or focused, their exacting geometric arrangementsoften got from scientific progressionseliminate the possibility of structure and accomplish a solitary spotlight on the item itself. They join components of design, figure, and painting. Donald Judds explicit article, Untitled (1965) highlighted seven rectangular items made of gleaming aroused sheet metal, every one of precisely the same measurements, attached to the divider in a vertical line. This additionally tested Abstract Expressionism, the fine art doesnt show any hints of the craftsmen hand, yet is by all accounts precisely created. Subsequently, the work doesn't give off an impression of being a statement of the specialists abstract expectation, psyche or feelings. With Installation Art, onlookers dont see the work of art from a far distance. Dominant part of the time, they are truly inside it, an integral part of its condition and substance by either; contacting, moving over, strolling through, investigating, drawing in, adjusting and interfacing with it. As a result of Minimalism, Installation Art has become blas before the customary modalities of authentic craftsmanship that highlight unimportant canvases holding tight a divider in a room. Minimalists were pitched against the socio-political real factors of the 1960s and 1970s. They needed to break the white solid shape impediments of a display by trying different things with the space. They considered show-stoppers as something that reclassified the significance of the environmental factors where they stood. Moderate workmanship straightforwardly draws in with the space it possesses. The work of art is deliberately masterminded to underline and uncover the engineering of the display, regularly being introduced on dividers, in corners, or straightforwardly onto the floor, urging the watcher to be aware of the space. Andre once said that what was excellent in workmanship was not that somebody is unique but rather that he can discover a method of making on the planet the occurrence of his disposition. Emplacement, condition, and comparability are significant in the entirety of his works. A spot is a territory inside a domain which has been modified so as to make the general condition progressively obvious, he said. Everything is a domain, yet a spot is connected especially to both the general characteristics of the earth and the specific characteristics of the work which has been finished. The blocks in Equivalent VIII are modest materials, essential to building, development, and assembling; by treating these as model, we see the works physical reality as a tasteful wonder. Furthermore, since arrangement creates and empowers the piece, Equivalent VIII and its general condition become one gem. The move in spending line is equal that demonstrates the way that with a lessening in cost of good X, the consumersââ¬â¢ genuine salary increments. Thusly, the equal move of the spending line and pay impact moves the purchaser to a higher utility level. The development from A to point B that delineates the impact of fall in cost of good X. If there should arise an occurrence of typical merchandise, the utilization increments with the ascent in pay. Then again, in the event of second rate products, utilization falls with the ascent in salary (Arnold 261-265). 2) The adjustment in cost speaks to change in utilization design. A buyer is in a superior position when utilization is situated on a higher lack of interest bend, which demonstrates to a consumerââ¬â¢s reaction to the adjustment in cost of products as for its temperament. We already covered the best way to start that conversation and navigate it in a sensitive manner, but even if it goes well, thatâs only the beginning.Being a financial caregiver can be difficult, stressful, and emotionally draining. But you can also take some satisfaction in helping someone you love to survive in their old age. Here are some tips to manage a role you may not have expected to ever take on.1. Try to be a partner.Being a financial caregiver will be less stressful for b oth you and the person youâre assisting if you donât try to take on more control than is necessary.âThe objective of parent-adult child eldercare conversations is to encourage mutually responsible partnerships,â advised Joy Loverde (@joyloverde), author of The Complete Eldercare Planner. âPartnering with, rather than parenting our parents, is the desired approach.âAs long as our parents remain mentally able to make their own decisions, we must appreciate the limits of the parent-child relationship. Many adult children have learned the hard way that attempts to impose their opinions, values, and authority on their parents will begin a downward spiral in the communication process, leading to a breakdown in the relationship.âWhen we focus our conversation style on influencing parents to seek and accept help from others, and keep them accountable for their own choices, they can remain true to their independent ideals.â2. Get all your legal ducks in a row.Managing legal d ocuments can be confusing and stressful even when you have them all in front of you. The more documents are missing, the less manageable the task becomes.âMake sure your relative has all of their legal documents in place,â recommended Renee Fry, Co-Founder and CEO of Gentreo (@Gentreo).âFor instance, you need a power of attorney to be able to make financial decisions for the person you are helping. Without one, you can not access or transfer funds or even pay medical or other bills.Make sure your older relative also has a health care proxy so important decisions can be made on care or even where care can be provided.â3. Act in their interests.Do you want to be a caregiver or a caretaker? Wait ⦠those actually mean similar things. How is that possible? Whatever, the point is you should try to act along with the desires of the person youâre looking after.âUnderstand their intentions,â Holly Wolf, Director of Customer Engagement for SOLO Laboratories (@SOLO_labs) told u s. âWhat is it they are trying to do with their money? Is it making it last until they die? Creating a legacyâ"for whom and why? Is it enjoying the money they have now?If you think they should be spending and they prefer to save, you need to understand their objectives.â4. Look out for scams. While you want to try and follow the elderly personâs wishes as closely as possible, the very fact that they need a financial caregiver means that they wonât always be able to make the right choices. That means you might need to act against their wishes in instances where you recognize that theyâre likely being scammed.âMake sure your elderly relative is not taken advantage of by scams or criminals who are trying to trick them into writing checks, transferring money, etc.,â warned Fry. âSet limits on spending, or require your relative to ask you first if they want to write a check or take money out of the bank.â5. Keep a close watch.Looking out for scams means keeping tabs on your elder, especially if theyâre doing any financial tasks online.âMonitor financial information and online usage,â urged Matt Dworetsky, president of Dworetsky Financial (@MDworetsky). âDepending on the situation, you should be involved in the financial management of your loved one.As people age and lose the ability to manage their own finances, they become more vulnerable to fraud. Many seniors fall victim to expensive online scams. Talk with your loved one about the importance of working together in this area to make sure everyone is protected.â6. Seek help.Thereâs no reason you should have to deal with this responsibility alone.âHave another person involved,â recommended Wolf. âAll of the people I have helped (aunt/uncle, inlaws, great aunt, parent) use an accountant that is unrelated to me. That way they have another set of eyes reviewing things to be sure Im not doing anything wrong.â7. Donât forget your own finances. In order to be a good financial careg iver, you need to have your own financial house in order.âYour financial security comes first,â advised Dworetsky. âDo not put your future and security on the line while taking care of a loved one or you will jeopardize both of your lives if a financial emergency happens and you canât care for either of you. Make sure you are always putting money into your savings and retirement accounts.âItâs an important task youâve taken on. Hopefully, these tips will make it an easier one. This is because the accounting requirements of any business are done with respect to the transactions being carried out. These transactions entail exchange of money, loan reimbursements, debits, and credits. The solitary difference is the amounts involved. The multinational companies carry out their multi-billion transactions while the small companies transact using much lesser amounts (Alexander and Britton 219). Since there is a similarity in the business operations irrespective of whether it is a small business or a large organization, then there should be no differential accounting. Furthermore, the introduction of differential account would lead to the formation of new accounting standard boards that would come up with the rules and regulations. This would requi re educating the auditors, financial analysts, and accountants all over again. This would cost organizations a great deal of cash. Furthermore, there would be inconsistencies in financial records in case of dealings between the small companies and the large corporations. It would also not be cost effective for a private company that wants to go public since they would require changing a whole accounting system. In my opinion, the principles-based approach of coming up with accounting standards is better as compared to the rules-based approach. This is because the approach is not new to the U.S standard settings. Moreover, the approach has been in use for over 20 years thus financial departments of organizations are conversant with its framework. In addition, the principle-based method is detailed and precise for use. The approach also allows the developing of accounting from the conceptual framework ensuring a broad application and avoiding exce... utvebmapuzz1974http://www.blogger.com/profile/04987147996829275378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267738081802509167.post-26756063769739446912020-05-24T09:08:00.001-07:002020-05-24T09:08:03.946-07:00Significance of Financial Reporting - 1702 Words à ¡Ã ¥Significance of Financial Reportingà ¡Ã ¦ -An Essay Student No. : S00042472 Student Name : Janak Patel The Collapse of the Corporate Giants like Enron and WorldCom have raised the imminent question, which always remains in the back of an investorà ¡Ã ¦s mind, à ¡Ã §Can I trust my hard earned Capital in somebody elseà ¡Ã ¦s hand ?à ¡Ã ¨ This is not the first time that investors have lost their trust in companies however the fact does not change that the cost of capital from the market has increased significantly for the companies. The more companies say about where they are making money and how they are spending their resources, the more confident investors can be about the companies fundamentals. We will write a custom essay sample on Like Riding a Bike or any similar topic only for you Order Now à The difficulties I had in learning how to ride a bicycle not only haunted much of my childhood, but carried over into learning how to drive a car.à The challenging experience began when I was five years old. My mom bought me a new bicycle with the intention of teaching me how to ride it, I learned to ride at age ten and at sixteen was reminded of the difficulties when it was time for me to get my driverââ¬â¢s license.à My struggle was not due to a lack of coordination or ability, because I have been very active in varying sports beginning with football at the age of four.à I excelled at baseball, lacrosse, basketball, roller hockey, and football, but feared the bicycle. I loved the brand new bicycle Mom bought for me and was anxious to learn to ride.à When I actually got on the bike however, I did not feel like I was in control.à As a person who needs to feel in control of situations, I was not comfortable.à Mom said I would gain control as I became better and learned to balance.à I tried to learn and she tried to teach for years.à These attempts usually ended in a screaming match between us and never seemed to get me any closer to mastering the art of bike riding.à I was embarrassed to be the only person my age who did not know how to ride a bicycle, but the fear of injury and lack of control always won out over the embarrassment. By the age of ten, Mom had given up trying to teach me, because we were both tired of it.à I had outgrown the bicycle Mom had bought me without ever riding it.à Through the many battles over it and failed trials, though, it looked like it had been through a war.à I had three younger siblings by this time and all of them had learned to ride bicycles with no more than the usual struggles of learning.à When my four-year-old brother, Dominic, mastered the skill, I knew it was time I overcame my fear and learned.à Somehow, I took strength and courage from my little brother and managed to keep a bicycle in the upright position long enough to say I could ride a bike.à I continue to struggle with the balance and would not say the skill is something I ever mastered, but at least I got over feeling like a failure. When it came time for me to learn to drive a car, the fear of not being in control returned.à I put off getting my permit in attempt to make excuses for not getting my license.à Everyone else my age seemed very excited to have the opportunity to drive, but I found ways to avoid it. I used the same courage I had gained with the bicycle to tackle my fear of driving and met the challenge.à I did not want to be the only teenager around that could not drive a car. Macro environment analysis The macro environment affects each and every business. Macro environment refers to the external environment of the company. These factors are beyond the control of marketers however they still may affect decision making process. The firm needs to focus on external environment factors so that it can maintain competitive position in the global market. The external environment may influence the entire economy of the country (Van Wormer Besthorn, 2017). The macro environment includes several factors such as political, economic, socio-cultural, technology and environment factors. Pestle (Political, economic, social, legal and environmental) analysis is done by the firm to analyze and identify the challenges and opportunities in the international market. The elements of macroenvironment have been stated below. Political factors: The political factors may be associated to the government. They comprise tax policies, health and safety laws, legislative bills and government stability. The political factors may affect the individual as well as organization in a society. The company should understand these factors on an international level and ensure their business aligns to laws, policies, rules and regulations (Gilpin, 2016). There are several strict laws which are applicable to the telecommunication industry, such as bandwidth use, tariff rates and privacy laws. It is important that the organization follows these laws to avoid strict actions from the government. Economic factors: These factors are related to inflation, taxes, recession and unemployment. Effective planning must be done by the firm to analyze and measure the economic factors. Economic factors may influence the success and growth of the company adversely. The economic factors are those external economic factors that affect the consumer buying behavior and capacity. It also includes economic resources, level of income, trade cycles and distribution of income and wealth. Apart from this, it includes import duty, VAT, unemployment rate, interest rate and sales tax (Nelson, 2015). The telecommunication industry is affected by the economic status of the country. If there is economic recession, the consumers will not use the services, which will negatively impact on the profits of company. Social factors: These factors also influence trading activities and operations of the organization. The social factors include ethnic background, culture, values, social status, demographic location, new trends, lifestyle and needs of people. Social components play a vital role to determine needs, requirements and lifestyle of people in the world. The socio-cultural factors also include preferences, desires and behavior of people to attract and increase more and more consumers globally. Many socio-cultural blunders occur due to the failure of the businesses in the foreign market. Furthermore, the employees are not able to understand and analyze the culture and trends of the foreign market. As a result, it influences the growth rate of the firm adversely. The social-cultural factors play a significant role in every company to determine the lifestyles, requirements and wants of people in the competitive market (Salvendy, 2012). In the present, there is excessive competition in the tele communication industry,it is the Technological factors: Technology not only used to deliver and develop products to consumers. But also technology used to conduct business activities effectively and efficiently. None of the company can survive its business without effective and dynamic technology. Therefore, the organization needs to focus on the technology development in the organization. The organization who is fastest with the best and unique technology can easily overcome the competitors in any market. Thus, the firm needs to keep an eye on the advanced technology to stay in the competitive market (Johnston Marshall, 2016). Legal factors: These factors have direct impacted on the progress of the firm. Before starting a new business, the organization needs to measure and identify the legal factors. These elements also influence decision making process of the firm (Yin, 2013). The legal factors encompass rules, regulations, laws and legislations that can positively or negatively affect the result and outcomes of market actions. Environment factors: These factors can direct impact on the organizations productivity and consumer decision making process. The firm also keeps an eye on the environment factors to gain competitive advantages in the international market. The natural environment includes the natural resources that are needed as inputs by marketers or they are influenced by marketing activities and operations. Environment is a major concern for each and every organization to start a new business operation in the foreign market. Thus, the firm needs to focus and analyze the several trends in the natural environment (Li Heap, 2011). How these elements affect Maxis Maxis is the biggest player in the telecommunication industry. Thus, various macro environment factors affect the growth and success of the firm positively as well as negatively. The company cannot maintain direct control on these external factors. The external macro environment factors which could affect Maxis performance and business have been below. Political factors: These factors play a significant role in macro environment and political factors directly affect growth of Maxis. The political factors include international trade agreements, low trade restrictions, and political stability. Legislation issues come up constantly.Government is one of the effective sources to know that how telecoms must be managed and handled and people have another option (Xu, 2005). Internet and WiFi are the part of peoples life. Maxis need to focus on these factors to stay in the competitive market and to build a good image in the world. The organization cannot grow its business without analyzing and evaluating the political factors. The political factors influence the operations of the firm. In Malaysia, there is a multi party system and political conditions are stable in such country. In addition, the national media are controlled and managed by the government. In this way, the firm needs to analyze and identify the political factors to enter in the foreign market. Economic factors: The economic factors include inflation rate, interest rate, unemployment rates and taxes that direct influence the telecommunication industry. Expenses influence the pricing per plan that is provided to customers. The needs and requirements of telecommunication services are being increased day by day. Growth of Maxis is dependent on the technological advancements and market as well. Internet and mobile phones are being used by many businesses for marketing and promotion. They create social media pages and digital marketing campaigns to attract more customers across the world (Perdana Leadership Foundation, 2017).Maxis hires customer service representatives to resolve and handle the problem via website live chat. Media managers, marketers and writers manage campaigns and online marketing. Furthermore, programmers and graphic designers are essential to create websites for mobile users and computers. In 1971, the new economic policy was created in Malaysia. The poverty decreased to 8.3% in 2004 against 64.8% in the 1970s. Apart from this, growth rate is sustainable in Malaysia due to effective economic. Maxis needs to monitor the economic factors to gain more revenue and returns in Malaysia. It will also help to hit the competitors in the international market. Social factors: The growth of telecommunication industry is limited. It is difficult and expensive to expand and explore in rural regions. The social factors include education level, values, beliefs, customs and culture of people that could affect the Maxis business. In todays era, telecommunication has become an essential part of the daily life of the every person. In Malaysia, there is a multi cultural society. The main ethnic groups are the native Malays and large populations of Indians and Chinese. The people of Malaysia maintain their customs, culture, religious and way of life. Public holidays are most significant festivals of each and every group in Malaysia. Therefore, it could positively affect the profitability of the firm (Abdullah, 2015). Along with this, children are also educated and well in such country. Also, it provides a good chance to accomplish long term goals of the company. In this way, if the company continuously carries the business activities in Malaysia it c an take various advantages. Technological factors: Innovative and advanced technology plays a vital role in Maxis Telecommunication Company. Basis needs and requirements in smart phones cover messaging, caller ID and voicemail. However, development risk and regulations risk are also involved in technological factors that could negatively affect the success of the organization. In addition, science policy in Malaysia is governed by the ministry of science, technology and innovation. Along with this effective and dynamic technologies are used by Maxis in Malaysia to attract more and more clients in the global world. Technology is an effective source for Maxis to reach its heights in the international market. Legal factors: The telecommunication industry is usually impacted by regulation issues. The issues are generally associated with monopolies, government and customers. The law of Malaysia is primarily based on the common law legal system. Moreover, the constitution of Malaysia also provides for unique and effective dual justice system-Sharia laws and the secular laws. However, complications and issues have arisen in term of the dual justice system (Healy, Palepu, 2012). Thus, the company needs to measure and identify legal factors to run the business successfully and powerfully. None of the firm can attain long term mission and vision without monitoring on the legal factors. Environmental factors: Global warming and climate change can influence the telecommunication products and services. In terms of technology advancement and employment, workers need to adapt the changes. In addition, there are several environmental issues faced by Malaysia like pollution and deforestation. After the various researchers, it has been analyzed that Malaysias deforestation rate is the highest among various nations (Yin, 2013). Apart from this, Malaysia lost an average of 140,200 hectares of its forests since 2000. It also has a negative impact on the success and progress of the firm. Water pollution is also an environmental issue that could affect the activities and operations of telecommunication industry. The profit of the firm depends on the needs, desires and requirements of the customers. All these factors also influence the outcomes and profitability of Maxis. The company should focus on these factors to stand out against the competitors in the universal market. It also helps to build and develop a unique and dynamic financial image in the world. Recommendations to manage the macro environment effectively and efficiently The macro and micro environment play an integral role to expand and grow the trade and business effectively. If the firm wants to start a new business in foreign countries, external and internal factors should be considered. Maxis uses a variety of tools in planning to consider and identify the impacts of macro environment factors. Apart from this, the organization uses PESTLE analysis, SWOT analysis and porter five forces analysis to analyze and measure the strengths and weaknesses of the competitors. Telekom Malaysia, Telenor and Vodafone are the main competitors of Maxis. There are various recommendations have been given to manage the macro environment factors effectively which are discussed below. Effective planning must be done to measure and determine the external factors, market and environment. The firm should adapt unique and dynamic strategies, policies and approaches to manage and handle the various macro environment factors. Along with this, Maxis should monitor the plans, policies and strategies of rivalries and market to gain several competitive benefits in the market (Lange, 2010). The firm should differentiate their products and services from competitors to maximize results and outcomes. In addition, the organization must focus the culture, values and belief of people to manage and handle the socio-cultural issues. Apart from this effective approaches to be used to control on the political and environmental factors. Moreover, the company should identify and measure rules, regulations and laws to run the business effectively and to manage the macro environment successfully (KellyRossotto, 2012). To manage the economic factors, the firm should focus on the economic stability and other economic factors. It will also help to provide a good chance to reduce marketing risks and challenges. Additionally, Maxis should improve the sustainability programs to manage the favorable environment in the country. It will also increase productivity and outcomes of the firm (Porter, 2008). Innovative and unique technologies must be used and initiated by the company to handle and reduce the issues related to technology and resources. All these measures help to maintain sustainability in the workplace as well as environment. The macro environment analysis helps to reduce cost of the firm. It also helps to minimize risks and maximize returns of the company. It will provide several opportunities to companies to grow and expand their business effectively. PESTLE analysis helps to reduce and eliminate effects of potential threats of the organization. Also, it develops and improves cross functional skills and knowledge of the workers. Every company should focus on the external factors such as political, economic, socio-cultural, legal, technology and environmental factors. It will help to generate more and more outputs in the rivalry market. Conclusion On the above mentioned study, it has been concluded that Maxis provides a variety of telecommunication products and services. The firm offers call plans, international roaming, MMS, WAP, monthly subscription plans residential fixed line services to customers in the global world. Apart from this, the company also provides I-Phone services to large variety of customers. On the other hand, the paper explains macro environment elements that affect the growth rate of the firm. External factors play an integral role to increase and improve the performance and productivity. In addition various recommendations have been explained in the task to manage the PESTLE factors effectively and efficiently. Now it is recommended that the organization should focus on the promotional and advertisement strategies to encourage and promote its business activities and operations globally. Answer: Introduction The recruitment procedure is one the most critical process for an organisational development. The process includes several steps such as attracting the candidates, analysing their qualification and capabilities, selecting the right applicant and appointing them to the right post. This process benefits the company by choosing the right candidate for the right job which augments the growth of a company. In modern times, the human resource department faces various challenges which negatively influence the recruitment procedure. There are different factors which affect various aspects of a recruitment procedure such as negative organisational image affect attracting process, and unqualified candidate makes it difficult to select the right person for right job. This report will focus on the business process outsourcing industry and its various factors that negatively influence their recruitment procedure. Further, the report will analyse the situation and provide different strategies based upon human resource principles that can improve the recruitment procedure of a company. Business Process Outsourcing Many corporations contract with third-party companies to transfer or outsource their business activities, which are known as business process outsourcing or BPO. As per Caniglia, Ramachandran Khanna (2005), the modernisation of technology and globalisation assist in the growth of BPO industry. The BPO industry provides a large number of employment to people. The growth of BPO industry in Asian countries is remarkable due to a high number of populations in countries such as India, China, and Thailand. The advantages of outsourcing a business activity include reduction of expenses, skilled workforce, and better focus on primary activities. But, along with merits, there are several drawbacks of outsourcing as well such as lack of information security, unpredictable government policies, change in the attitude of employees, and underestimation of expenses (Nadkarni Herrmann 2010). Recruitment Procedure Challenges The human resource department of BPO enterprises faces different problems which recurring new employees. Following are several factors in BPO industry which negatively affects the recruitment process. Negative Organisational Image The first step of the recruitment process is attracting the talented candidates for the recruitment procedure of the company. Ghodeswar Vaidyanathan (2008) provided that the human resource department faces different challenges in attracting talented employees because of the negative organisational image of the enterprise. In most countries such as China and India, BPO sectors did not have a positive reputation in between people. This industry employs a large number of people, but mostly the employees work on low payrolls and high working hours. The organisational environment in a BPO company usually includes late working hours, low basic pay, sexism, and discrimination based on religion. The growth opportunities in BPO sector are low for the employees. Many people quit their job as soon as possible if they get a better opportunity in other companies. Diversity and Discrimination Issues Most of the BPO companies prefer to hire candidates from some locations because they perform their job at a low salary package. According to Doh (2005), most of the BPO companies did not have any regulations regarding discrimination conducted by employees based on religion. The corporations face considerably high problems of diversity throughout BPO industry. The rate of female employees in BPO industry is below 35 percent. Organisations did not prefer to hire female employees because of late working shifts and sexual harassment cases in the workplace. The company did not strictly implement the policies regarding female employees which eventually force them to quit their jobs (Mahmoodzadeh, Jalalinia Nekui Yazdi 2009). Age Gap As per Mehta, Armenakis, Mehta Irani (2006), the age gap between the employees in BPO sector is significantly high. The maximum number of BPO works comes under the age group of 23 to 40. The companies did not prefer to hire aged employees because they lack technical knowledge. Most of the elder employees are not good with technologies, and their productivity is considerably lower than young people. Therefore, BPO companies did not prefer to hire them. Demand/Supply Modernisation and globalisation have positively influenced the growth of BPO industry, in past few decades. Whitaker, Mithas Krishnan (2010) provided that a large number of organisations are using facilities of outsourcing to reduce their costs and improve their quality of services. Due to this development, the demand for talented employees has proliferated in BPO sector. Most of the employees in BPO industry do not possess proper skills of operating a computer or English proficiency. This creates problems for human resource department because it became tough for them to find the talented employees and retain them in the organisation. The supply of talented employees is not enough to satisfy the demand in BPO industry, and it is growing in at a fast pace (Narayanan, Jayaraman, Luo Swaminathan 2011). High Competition BPO industry has grown rapidity in past few decades and it still one of the fastest growing industry. As per Lacity, Solomon, Yan Willcocks (2011), daily new local companies are starting their BPO business which increases the number of competitors in the market. Along with the competition, the demand for talented employees has grown as well. Organisations are competing with each other to attract and retain talented employees. Many companies offer high salary packages and incentive to other corporations employees, in order to employ them. Due to high competition, the talented employees have raised their demands which make the procedure of recruitment difficult for the human resource department. Unqualified Employees In BPO sector, the requirement for employees includes English proficiency, basic computer knowledge, and service orientation. Most of the people in developing countries did not possess these qualifications. The degrees provided by candidates did not prove their qualifications because many applicants use fake degrees. Human resource department faces difficulty in analysing the qualification of candidates, and it also takes a long time (Bharadwaj, Saxena Halemane 2010). Recommendations The human resource department of BPO corporations can adopt various strategies to address the challenges faced by them in recruitment procedure. Following are few of the examples of such strategies. Organisational Training Strategy BPO companies can adopt an organisational training strategy to improve their recruitment and retention procedure. According to Halvey Melby (2007), the demand for talented and skillful employees is high in BPO sector, but the supply is considerably low. To address this issue, corporations can provide training to their employees who can improve their productivity and knowledge. The company can also provide training to new employees to give them a better understanding of their work. The company can establish a lock-in period for the employees who were given training by the organisation, so they did not leave the corporation right after completing their training. Training can benefit human resource department in fulfilling their demand of recruiting talented employees (Rai, Keil, Hornyak WuLlenweber 2012). This strategy also benefits human resource department in filling up the age gap between the employees. Most companies did not hire aged employees due to their lack of technical knowledge and productivity. By providing them on the job training, human resource department can employ them in the workplace. Trained employees are also easier to manage which benefit the company by maintains a positive work environment (Graf Mudambi 2005). Better Salary and Incentive Packages Most people did not prefer to work in BPO sector is because the companies did not provide better salary packages to their employees. Mani, Barua Whinston (2006) provided that the incentives and bonus schemes of BPO corporations are not according to the long working hours. To address this issue, companies should establish better policies regarding salary packages. Better salary packages attract talented employees which is beneficial for the organisation. The organisation can establish an incentive policy according to the performance of employees; this strategy will motive employees in improving their productivity and also solves the retention issues of BPO corporations. Diversity Culture The top-level management of BPO corporations should implement an efficient workplace culture which must be followed by the employees. As per Conklin (2005), the human resource department did not receive talented candidates in recruitment procedure because of the negative work culture in BPO sectors. By implementing proper diversity regulations and cooperative policies, the BPO corporations can improve their working environment. The human resource department should also promote the hiring of employees with different cultural backgrounds which promotes the diversity in the company. Human resource department should not discriminate against candidates based on their age, gender, caste or religion. The female employees should receive similar salary packages and opportunities as compared to male workers. The positive work environment will improve the organisations image of BPO corporations which can benefit the human resource department in recruitment procedure. Most talented employees would prefer to work for the organisation with positive culture than high pay grade (Handley Benton 2009). Conclusion From the above report, it can be concluded that the human resource department in BPO sector faces various problems in the recruitment procedure. There are several internal and external factors which affect the quality and effectiveness of the recruitment process. The factors which affect the recruitment procedure include bad reputation of BPO corporations, the rapid increase in competition, unqualified employees, lack of diverse culture and low salary packages. To address these issues, there are various policies that a company can implement to improve the recruitment procedure. To attract talented candidates in the recruitment process, the company should establish better diversity policies and provide higher salary packages to employees. The retention of employees can be improved by the establishing positive work environment and stabling performance-based incentive scheme. The demand for talented employees and age gap issues can be fulfilled by establishing an organisations training facility. These strategies can improve recruitment procedure of a BPO company and sustain their development. References Bharadwaj, S. S., Saxena, K. B. C., Halemane, M. D. (2010). On the occasion that we do need to write one, like to pay rent, take care of a bill, or send a birthday gift to a relative, we might find ourselves feeling uncertain about whether weââ¬â¢re doing it right. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to fill out a check. To start, letââ¬â¢s get up close and personal with this small but mighty piece of paper. Anatomy of a Check: Full Diagram Did you know that a check has your bank account number on it? Or that each check has its own number that shows up not once, but twice? Did you ever notice that official checks have a tiny image of a padlock to show theyââ¬â¢re certified by the almighty Check Payment Systems Association? Check out this diagram of a personal check to take a close look at everything on it. This particular check belongs to Archibald Squiggles of Splitsville, Indiana. Sam Lindsay for PrepScholar/All rights reserved. As you can see, your checks will show your name and address, bank account and routing number, and a check number. They also may feature the name of your bank. Using this diagram for reference, letââ¬â¢s look at everything you need to do to fill out a check. How to Fill Out a Check First off, you should fill out your check in pen. You could use a pencil, technically, but then your writing could get smudged or, worse, an unsavory character could come along, erase what you wrote, and change it to something else! Pen is more secure and official, especially when a signature is required. When youââ¬â¢re writing a check, you just need a few pieces of information: Name of the recipient, whether itââ¬â¢s an individual or a company Amount of money youââ¬â¢re writing the check for The date you want the recipient to cash the check Youââ¬â¢ll also need to know how to write out the amount of money in words, a task that most of us rarely do outside of the context of writing checks. Youââ¬â¢ll find some more tips on how to do this below. Once you have all of this information, youââ¬â¢ll find that writing the check is easy. There are five required pieces of information, plus an optional sixth. You can add these five (or six) pieces of information in any order, as long as you fill them all out in the end. For the purposes of this guide, the steps for how to write a check are presented in the order that they appear on the check from top to bottom and left to right, starting with the date. Many of us write checks every month to a landlord or realty management company. Step 1: Write the Date First, you should write the date on its designated line near the top right corner. Put the date on which the recipient can first cash the check. That might be the current date, or a date in the future. For instance, if youââ¬â¢re writing a check for December, 2016 rent, then you might put the date as December 1, 2016. This means that you want the recipient to cash the check on or after December 1, but not before. You can write the date in long form or in the format MM/DD/YYYY. For instance, using the example above, you could write July 1, 2016 or 07/01/2016 (leaving out the zeros and writing 7/1/2016 is fine, too). If youââ¬â¢re writing a longer month, like November, you can also abbreviate it, e.g. Nov. 1, 2016. In the example below, Loretta Checkworth has started writing a check to pay back Archibald Squiggles. Sheââ¬â¢s writing the check in late September, but dates it as October 1, 2016. Since she and Archibald Squiggles are close friends, he doesnââ¬â¢t mind waiting a week to cash it until Lorettaââ¬â¢s sure she has the funds in her account. Youââ¬â¢ll notice that Loretta has redacted her home address and bank account number. She knows better than to share personal information with strangers on the internet. Like Loretta, you can date a check in the future if you want the recipient to wait to cash it. If you have insufficient funds in your account until that date, you should also pass the message along to the recipient to wait to deposit the check until the stated date. You could date your check for way in the future, but who knows if weââ¬â¢ll even still be using checks by then. Maybe weââ¬â¢ll pay for everything in flowers to our robot overlords. Step 2: Name the Recipient After you write the date, fill in the name of the recipient. If youââ¬â¢re writing a check to a person, then write his/her first and last name. Loretta writes out Archibald's full name, as you can see on the check below. If youââ¬â¢re sending money to a company, write the full name of the company (e.g., Acropolis Realty, Inc.). You can also write ââ¬Å"cashâ⬠as the recipient. Writing cash means that anyone can cash the check. Itââ¬â¢s usually not recommended, for security reasons. Step 3: Fill in the Numerical Amount of Money In the payment box, write out the amount of money. Since the dollar sign should already be outside the box, you donââ¬â¢t need to repeat it. Just write the numbers. Include the cents, even if the amount of cents is zero. For instance, five dollars should be written as 5.00, rather than just 5. It is possible to write a check for less than a dollar. In that case, include the zero before the decimal point. An amount of 75 cents, for instance, would be written as 0.75. Loretta owes $150.99 to Archibald, which she indicates in the payment box below. Since the dollar sign is already outside the box, Loretta doesn't write it again when writing a check. Just the numbers, "150.99" are fine. This piggy bank just learned you can write checks for amounts less than a dollar and is rightfully alarmed. Step 4: Write Out the Amount of Money in Words Now comes the slightly less usual task. In addition to writing the numerical amount of money, you also need to write out the amount in words. Youââ¬â¢ll write out the dollars in words and the cents in words or as a fraction out of 100. For instance, an amount of $5.00 could be written as ââ¬Å"Five dollars and zero centsâ⬠or ââ¬Å"Five dollars and 00/100.â⬠Writing the cents as a fraction is more common because it saves room on a relatively short line. When thereââ¬â¢s no change, you can also follow the amount in dollars with the word ââ¬Å"even.â⬠In this example, your third option would be to write, ââ¬Å"Five dollars even.â⬠If youââ¬â¢re writing a compound number between 20 and 100, you should include a hyphen. For example, $21 becomes ââ¬Å"Twenty-one dollarsâ⬠and $49 becomes ââ¬Å"Forty-nine dollars.â⬠If youââ¬â¢re writing an amount less than a dollar, then you could write out the cents in one of two ways. You could write ââ¬Å"zero dollars andâ⬠followed by the fraction, or write the amount out in words preceded by the word ââ¬Å"only.â⬠For example, 50 cents would become ââ¬Å"zero dollars and 50/100â⬠or ââ¬Å"Only fifty cents.â⬠Using these rules, letââ¬â¢s look at a few more examples of how to write out numerical amounts of money in words. Example 1: $10.00 Ten dollars and 00/100 OR Ten dollars and zero cents OR Ten dollars even Example 2: $39.99 Thirty-nine dollars and 99/100 OR Thirty-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents Example 3: $0.75 Zero dollars and 75/100 OR Only seventy-five cents Example 4: $1,789.74 One thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine dollars and 74/100 As you can see, the fourth example only writes the cents as a fraction. While you technically can write out the change in words, you probably wouldnââ¬â¢t have space on the line with such a large number. You could also add clarifying commas when writing out big numbers, although you donââ¬â¢t have to. If youââ¬â¢re running into trouble writing out the numerical value in words, you can also enlist the help of a website, like Calculator Soup. It converts numerical currency values into words. Itââ¬â¢s best to make sure you know how to write everything out before you start filling out the check, so you donââ¬â¢t waste a check. Before filling out your check, you can use another piece of paper for some check writing practice. You also want to make sure to write small enough so you can fit the amount all on one line. Loretta is used to writing checks, so she went ahead and wrote ââ¬Å"One hundred fifty dollars and 99/100sâ⬠on her personal check in the correct check writing format without a practice run first. Loretta also added a dash after the amount to indicate that nothing should come after. You can include a line like this to safeguard your check and make sure no one can add any additional numbers. Personal checks, where words and numbers collide. Step 5: Add an Optional Memo See the memo line near the bottom left-hand corner on the diagram of the check? Filling out this line is optional. You can write a word or two as a note to the recipient or to describe what the check is for. For instance, you could write ââ¬Å"July rent,â⬠ââ¬Å"Happy Birthday,â⬠ââ¬Å"IOU,â⬠or ââ¬Å"Laser tag.â⬠If your recipient is getting several checks from you or other people, then it may be useful to fill out this memo line to make sure your check doesnââ¬â¢t get mixed up. Step 6: Sign It! Finally, once youââ¬â¢ve filled out the date, recipient, amount of money in numbers and words, and optional memo, youââ¬â¢ll sign your name! A signature is essential, as the check canââ¬â¢t be cashed or deposited if itââ¬â¢s not signed. Once youââ¬â¢ve completed these six steps, youââ¬â¢re all done! Your check is filled out and ready to go. After filling out all of the other essential information, Loretta signed her full name. Now the check is ready for Archibald. Besides knowing how to write a check, there's one other step you should take before sending off your check. Read on for one extra tip about check writing. Extra Tip: Write Down the Check Number Before sending off your check to your friend, landlord, laser tag partner, health insurance company, or whoever the recipient may be, you should take one additional step: write down the check number. Every check has its own number to help you keep track of it. As you can see on Archibaldââ¬â¢s check, the check number can typically be found twice on the check, on the top right and bottom right corners. Recording the check number helps you keep track of which check youââ¬â¢re using in case it gets lost or you need to cancel it. Canceling a check costs between $15 and $36 depending on your bank, but it could be worth it if youââ¬â¢re worried about the check falling into the wrong hands. You may also want to cancel the check if you donââ¬â¢t have enough money in your account, depending on your bankââ¬â¢s overdraft fees. Usually, banks charge an overdraft fee between $20 and $40 if a check bounces. If you have overdraft protection, then your bank will cover the cost of the check, but this coverage will be a loan with interest, plus you may have to pay an additional fee. You'll have to compare your bank's overdraft fee with its cancellation fee to decide if the check is worth canceling. If youââ¬â¢re worried about a check bouncing, try to tell the recipient to wait to deposit until youââ¬â¢re sure you have enough money in your account. Writing down the check number is a smart move just in case you need to cancel your check or order new ones. When you order from a third party, like Costco, you need to know the number of your last check so your next group of checks can start with the following number. Loretta Checkworth, of course, recorded her check number before she paid back Archibald Squiggles for their laser tag weekend getaway. Archibald recently deposited Lorettaââ¬â¢s check into his bank account, so thereââ¬â¢s no longer a debt between them. While Lorettaââ¬â¢s an old pro when it comes to check writing, what should you remember as you fill out your own personal checks? Remember to record the check number in case your check gets lost in transit... How to Write a Check: Key Takeaways Filling out a check is no great mystery. You just need a small amount of information, namely the name of the recipient, the amount of money, and the date on which they can cash or deposit the check. If youââ¬â¢re unsure about writing numerical values out in words, perhaps practice on another piece of paper first, so you donââ¬â¢t end up wasting a check. Before sending out your check, record the check number, just in case you need to cancel it. Knowing how to fill out a check a useful skill that anyone with a checking account should have. Next time you need to send a check for rent, a bill, or a gift, you can feel confident that your money transfer will go through. utvebmapuzz1974http://www.blogger.com/profile/04987147996829275378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267738081802509167.post-1280975710753192352020-02-20T05:57:00.001-08:002020-02-20T05:57:02.419-08:00Fiber Optic Security Systems Thesis Proposal Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 wordsFiber Optic Security Systems - Thesis Proposal Example They analyze the information such as calls, File systems and modifications application logs and other host information to detect and suppress attacks. E Waste is generally considered a part of the solid waste and is disposed off in the municipal solid waste along with the necessary precautions that need to be taken when disposing it off. This disposal creates a hazard for the society as these gadgets are made up of components that can be hazardous to the health of the individuals (Luther 1-3). The waste that is being disposed off consists of lead, mercury, selenium and other components which are known to be hazardous (Johri 3-4). As these products are being disposed off, the hazardous nature of E-Waste is taking a new leap and the state affairs are taking a keen interest in the aspect of recycling this waste. Many states have already implemented a strategy that forces the concerned authorities to recycle this waste rather than disposing it off. However this recycling has also caused an irk amongst the scholars as the products are being recycled and sent to the developing countries where the hazards of such material increases even further (Luther 1-3). E Waste forms around 0.01% to 1% of municipal solid waste in the developing countries. Televisions and computers that were being built previously consisted of an overwhelming amount of lead. If these computers and televisions are discarded at a ground, these dangerous elements can leak out in the soil and cause havoc. The computer chips and other circuitry are made up of other poisons that can contaminate the soil and this includes mercury which is known to be a cancer causing agent. It is thus very important for the concerned authorities to review the process of dumping this waste and utvebmapuzz1974http://www.blogger.com/profile/04987147996829275378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267738081802509167.post-58178912616719907502020-01-27T13:41:00.001-08:002020-01-27T13:41:05.559-08:00Exploring visions of capitalism exitsExploring visions of capitalism exits What is capitalism? Based on (Fulcher J 2004), capitalism is en essentially investment of money in the expectation of making profit. Thus, capitalism is a special social structure where both the selling and buying of commodities organized by capital dominate human economic activities. Capitalism has expanded in social relations of production, distribution and consumption. In this essay, Im going to talk about the several visions and also the terms of capitalism, also not forget how has the global capitalist systemevolved over the two centuriesà £Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â¬Å¡ There are several types of visions of capitalism exits. Liberal vision means an economy with self-regulating market with free trade and no state will step in to interference. Marxian vision which expand global system but based on exploitation of workers by capitalists and liable to crisis as result of gap between total wages and value of goods and services. Schumpeterian vision stresses the role of entrepreneur investment and saving in order to gain profit and also over-investment in the market. Polanyian vision which is stresses utopian nature of free market and dependence on state intervention, leading to social strains to generate demand for state regulation. Lastly, Keynesian vision which is try to reach equilibrium below full employment levels. In order to keep the full employment, state has to put money into the economy to restore confidence and boost demand. According to (Makoto Itoh1988) merchant capitalism has grown about two and half centuries until the middle of the eighteenth century for the explosive expansion of world trade with the invention of new continent and worldwide sea routes. It is a term described by economist that an earliest phase in the development of capitalism. Based on ((Randy Hodson,Teresa A.Sullivan 2008), merchant capitalism grew not as a way to organized production but as a way to organize trade. (Fulcher J 2004) stated that merchant capitalism is the investment in order to generate huge profit by risk and long-distance trading ventures , and the profit is the result of scarcity and distance. Merchants have to made money by investing in goods that they sold at profit. According (Makoto Itoh1988) the beginning of seventeen century mercantilism appeared as bullionism, where silver and gold was treated as treasure. Thus, the growth of wealth was measured by accumulation of these metals which served as money. So, m ercantilist known the importance of manufacturing industries and foreign trade was the source of national wealth and treasure. After that, based on (Makoto Itoh1988) mercantilism turned to a typical police balance of trade system where the total nation balance of trade rather than the balance of each individual bargain was underlined. There is argument about state should export more goods than imported in order to let foreigners pay the bullion, and only raw materials that cant extract at home should be imported. Thus, subsidies for export and creation of monopolies among the trading companies in order to encourage home production of manufactured goods. Capitalism production is specific in commercial supplied inputs and outputs of production through the market. The whole production process is restructured with the economic rationality of capitalism, which price is described the relationships between input and output. The profit depended ultimately on workers so production itself becomes directly a source of capital growth, based on the commercial exploitation of surplus labor. According to( Fulcher J 2004), capitalist production is based on wage labor and a clear line of division and conflict emerges between the owners of capital, who own what Karl Marx called the means of production and those who sell their labor in exchange for wages. Means of production are those factories, tools and the machinery to create a product. A worker can sell his labor to capitalist for a wage in any activity or investment that will bring profit to a capitalist. For the example of cotton mills, apart from heavy machinery cost, wages were the main cost o f the company. So, Wages costs were minimized by replace less skilled and cheaper labor as work together with invention of technology made this possible. On other hand, Industrial capitalism required continuous work , based on (Fulcher J 2004), workers had become, as Marx put it wage slaves. Anarchic capitalism also known as liberalization market was the stage in 18th and early 19thcenturies when industrial capitalism made its breakthrough. It was anarchic because participants can seize and defend resources without regulation. Economist Murray Rothbard defined the term of anarchy society as one where there is no legal possibility of coercive aggression against the person or property of any individual. According to anarchic capitalism, the personal activities or economic activities would be regulated by private law rather than politics yet entrepreneurs competitors will provide law enforcement, courts rather than through taxation. Anarchic capitalism argued that society should based on the voluntary trade of private property and services which consists of money, consumer goods, capitals goods or land to maximize individual liberty and wealth. (Kaletsky ) stated that the ideology is clear that a capitalist system based on private property and profit was an elemental force of nature, governed by iron laws of economics that were as immune to human manipulation as a hurricane. The general beliefs of laissez-fair which dominant throughout this 150 year period is that economics and politics are two different areas in human activity and emotion that should remain different in the interest of economic and political progress. In anarchic capitalism what is important is the way of gain property without roadblock from the compulsory state and the most economically beneficial is through voluntary trade rather than government intervention. Government intervention extensively in the economy, essentially through high and var iable trade tariffs and excise taxes in order to raise revenues. Not only that, according to (Kaletsky) there were also used to favor influential industries or social interests such as textile manufacturers or yeoman farmers. Nevertheless, according to (Kaletsky), laissez-faire capitalism has been succumbed because of its internal contradictions just like what Marx had predicted before. Anarchist romantics repulsed, according to Keyness description suggested, one of the reason might be the revolutionary groups of 1880-1915 period that exceed achievements in their destructive political impact by terrorists of PLO or IRA. So, by 1914, free market capitalism was declining and the internal contradiction that identified by Marx were toward a systemic breakdown. In 1919, Keynes warning there will be an economic catastrophe foreshadowed. Then, financial earthquakes of hyperinflation in Weimar Germany and also Great Depression happened on 1930s. Based on (Kaletsky), during nineteenth-century politico-economic system was still in death throws and capitalism had become extinct so the system has to opt for reform. Managed capitalism which born out of the economic disaster in the interwar period was begin in second half of 19th century which thrived for roughly 40 years and came to its peak in 1970s. Thus, its the policies that Keynes had been recommending to British government. The (Fulcher J2004) stated that competition and market regulation declined as both sides of industry become more organized and as state management and control increased. One of the remarkable transformation occurred in the 1930s was the invention of government economist. According to (Kaletsky), the interactions between the government and market in anarchic capitalism has been consider incidental to economic activity and generally damaging to it as government need to raise revenues by tariffs and taxes for the main reason which is fighting war. So, landlord or manufacturers have to pay for tariffs to protect them for low-cost foreign competition. There is no one belief that the working of the market will be improved eve n there is intervention of Bank England in money market and also motivation of self-interests of City London or British finance to quell panics. According to (Kaletsky), Prime minister has described that the governments reaction to Keyness early proposal to lift the British economy out of Great Depression. The macroeconomic condition was transformed by collapse of global trade and industry in early 1930. As what stated in (Kaletsky), public outrage intensified over mass unemployment, the twin threats of socialist revolution and fascist dictatorship forced democratic politicians to engage with the economy in ways that classical economist had never imagined. Next, government been offered a freedom of action by the time gold standard has been breakdown. Then, based on economists and politicians that the upshot was that if unguided by government, capitalism was ruinously and unstable. The (Kaletsky) stated that a competent government will protect the public and also economy from unavoid able anarchy of free market. But from the 1960 onwards, economy crisis hit the world. Not only Britain but also other countries like Italy, France were facing inflation and even assassination from terrorism. Thus, breakdown of the international monetary system in 1971 leads a death blows and collapsed to manage capitalism. According to (Kaletsky), a lethal combination of high inflation and mass unemployment known as stagflation appeared in the economy. After the 1979 Iranian Revolution, capitalism in this period was faced the same problem as the early one in 1930s, it had to transform itself to survive or choose to become extinct. Why did managed capitalism collapsed is probably caused of corporatist institution couldnt work in the end, government had failed to regulate prices and incomes because the cooperation wasnt been engineered between unions and employers. Remarketized capitalism period happened on 1980s after the collapsed of managed capitalism and its revival of market forces. Thus, in 1981-1982,based on (Kaletsky) monetarism has been applied to tame of inflation by revival of free or competitive markets, prevent distorted by state intervention, always keep a capitalist economy in balance, producing efficient and rational outside ,including economic stability and full employment. What causes the crisis of capitalism in 1970s? Its the consequence of errors in monetary policy. Additionally, another reason of the great inflation and breakdown of Keynesian capitalism was probably the private enterprise hard to afford the high taxes, the militant unions they empowered and especially the Increase of powerfu l labor movement brings class conflict and pressure for income redistribution. Next, Keynesian full-employment built a natural tensions over the distribution of wagers and profit between workers and capitalists in the economic system. By the late 1960s, the top priority of government policy was maintain full employment then the labor militancy intensified to achieve the escalate demand so a postwar generation of workers had grown up. Thus, according (Kaletsky), companies felt confident to pay offers that were needed to stave off labor militancy and strikes. So inflation was created as result. Government has to restore discipline into the labor market in order to stop the inflation. So, government has to abandon full employment policies and also create condition to millions workers who going to lose their jobs. In 1943, self-destruction of Keynesian full-employment was predicted by economist and he was argued that due to the labor militancy and inflation, the solution will create a new crisis of capitalism and force the capitalism system to reinvent itself again. Lastly, based on ( Kaletsky ) the thirty years epoch started with Thatcherism in 1979 and ended with the crisis of 2007-2009. utvebmapuzz1974http://www.blogger.com/profile/04987147996829275378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267738081802509167.post-34042274861286103292020-01-19T10:05:00.001-08:002020-01-19T10:05:03.915-08:00Child ObservationChild Observation Background The child that I chose to observe was a nine year old boy that I will refer to as Dan. Dan is a highly gifted child who, unfortunately, suffers from cerebral palsy, as well as panic attacks. His parents are divorced and he lives with his mother, who has remarried. His father who also has remarried, does have contact with him, though the relationship is somewhat strained. He comes from an upper middle class background, and has no brothers or sisters. I observed Dan in the waiting room for about an hour (his mother was good enough to bring him in for his appointment a little early so that I could observe him). The room contained many toys and books for varying ages, as well as a number of magazines for both kids and adults. The walls were covered with different pictures and posters, and there were a number of chairs. Observation Danââ¬â¢s mother, Molly, helped him into the office by supporting him under his arms. His upper body works normally but he has t rouble with his legs, particularly his lower legs, and is unable to walk on his own. His mother took him immediately to the corner of the room containing the toys and books, then lowered him to the floor.Dan picked out a science book that appeared to be geared towards children a few years older than he. Lying on the floor, he began to read aloud and frequently questioned his mother, who sat in a nearby chair, about pronunciation of words, as well as dates and background information on famous scientists mentioned in the text. His mother answered all of his questions, and when she did, he engaged her in further conversation about the subject until he was sure that he understood. His mother was then called into the office to speak with the doctor alone. Before leaving, she asked Dan if he needed to use the restroom (he needs her help to do so). He told her he was fine, and she went into the office. At this point, Dan and I were the only two people in the room. He continued to read aloud after his mother had left. With her gone, he engaged in private speech when he came to a word he did not know, or a subject he was unfamiliar with. His conversations with himself were very similar to those he had with his mother. About ten minutes after his mother had left, Dan began looking over at me occasionally, but only for a second before going back to his reading. When he was unsure of a word, he repeated it several times before moving on. His reading grew gradually quieter until I could not always make out the words. At one point, he came across a word that he did not know and began reasoning to himself as follows: ââ¬Å"This must be an English wordâ⬠¦although I speak English, so maybe itââ¬â¢s from a different countryâ⬠¦ or maybe they only use it in England. â⬠Dan looked at me several times as he attempted to reason through this, but did not ask me for help. After that, he closed the book and looked around the room.He pulled a rock the size of a large marb le from his pocket, and began brushing it lightly against first a nearby chair leg, then his own sneaker. He sat up, experimented with throwing the rock at his left hand, which he held open, palm facing his right hand. I should note that he did not appear to be trying to catch it, but I could not be sure. At any rate, he never did catch it in the several times that he threw it. He then rolled it down his arm a couple of times, before throwing it straight up in the air, leaving his hand out, but not moving it at all as the rock fell past it.At this point Dan looked at me for about five or ten seconds straight, the first time he had done more than glance at me. He then pushed the book away and crawled over to a large aluminum can with a lid on it that was filled with toys. He brushed the rock lightly against it, but did not open it. Next, he looked at me and smiled. He asked me if he was bothering me and I told him he was not. He told me he did not want to distract me if I was studyin g. I answered that I was just writing something for school and that he was not distracting me at all.He said that he did not want to be bothersome and that he had been trying to be as non-distracting as possible. I told him not to worry about it and to just do whatever he wanted. After that, he began to talk to me a great deal. He told me about a book that he had read in the waiting room before and asked if I had ever read it. I answered that I had not and he told me all about it. He said it allowed you to put different wigs and clothes on different people and that he really liked it a lot. He went on to say that it was ââ¬Å"a lot of fun, but itââ¬â¢s not here anymore so someone must have took it.I donââ¬â¢t know who took it though. â⬠He then pulled down another book with big wobbly eyes that were placed to be on a different picture every time you turned the page. He asked me if I ever saw this book and I told him that I had. He said that it was ââ¬Å"a really cool bo ok. â⬠He then started reading it aloud, looking over at me occasionally as he did so. A little later, as he continued to read, his mother came back in and asked again if he needed to use the restroom. He told her he did not, and she lifted him up and helped him into the office for his appointment.Interpreting the Observation The first thing that struck me about Danââ¬â¢s behavior was that he ignored the toys and magazines, and went straight for the books. Not only that, the first book that he picked out was obviously geared towards kids several years older than he. I knew going into the observation that Dan was highly gifted, and combining that with his physical disability, it made sense that he would be an avid reader and , relative to the other kids his age, a very advanced one. This proved to be true.Gambrell (1994) says that a child who is motivated to learn will read for a number of reasons, including to gain knowledge. This certainly seemed to be the case with Dan as he was very intent on being sure that he understood exactly what he was reading. Many kids read because they have to, and they learn so that they will get an ââ¬Å"Aâ⬠in school; Dan was reading and learning for the sole purpose of gaining knowledge. This is not surprising given the fact that gifted children have been found to have significantly higher intrinsic motivation to learn all subject areas than do their peers (Gottfried & Gottfried 1996).This study went on to say that ââ¬Å"From the early years through adolescence, children who are identified as gifted evidence superior persistence, attention, curiosity, enjoyment of learning and orientation toward mastery and challenge. This was mirrored in the enthusiasm with which Dan went about the task of reading and being sure that he understood what he had read. The fact that his mother allowed him to pick out a book himself could be relevant to Danââ¬â¢s apparent motivation to read.Gambrell (1994) reports that over 80% of children name books that they picked out themselves when asked about those they most enjoyed. In contrast, only 10% talked about books that were chosen for them. A strong correlation was shown to exist between a childââ¬â¢s being allowed to choose his own book and his intrinsic motivation to read. Gambrell further reports that learning through books is enhanced by social interactions, which further increase his desire to read. Dan obviously demonstrated this through the conversation he had with his mother while reading. After his mother left, Dan made frequent use of Vygotskyââ¬â¢s private speech (overt verbalizations not intended for a listener), particularly in the form of questions to himself. I saw this as both modeling his earlier conversations with his mother, and actively trying to learn new words and information. Goodman (1981) found that, in problem solving tasks, questions to self occurred more frequently following failures. This too, was the case with Dan who would often ask himself questions after being unable to pronounce a word or figuer out its meaning.Goodman also found that a hight rate of verbaliztions during problem solving tast was associated with increased efficiency. This is consistent with the fact that Dan, who made frequent use of such verbalizations, was a very advanced reader for his age. His frequent glances at me during particularly troublesome spots could have been related to social referencing. He appeared to want to ask me for help, but never did. Instead he simply looked at me as he tried to pronounce the word, as if trying to guage my facial reaction to see if he was right. Conclusion Dan appeared to be, aside from his diagnosed problems of cerebral palsy and panic attacks, a fairly normal, though cognitively advanced, nine year old boy. His reading every thing aloud struck me as somewhat unusual, and I have no sure explanantion as to why; perhaps he feels that he learns better through auditory stimulation. He also seemed to use private speech more than the average nine year old would, but as I discussed earlier, some studies have linked this to better problem solving abilities and high cognitive performance.References Gambrell, L. It is the basis of all other professions. Good teachers plant seed that make good doctors, good accountants, good public servants, good statesmen, good taxi drivers, and good astronauts. When former students return to see me over the years, my heart fills up in the knowledge that I have been part of a wonderful accumulation of experiences that followed them through life. ââ¬â Mary Bicouvaris. If your plan is for a year, plant rice. If your plan is for a decade, plant trees. If our plan is for a lifetime, educate children. ââ¬â Confucius I am a teacher because of teachers. They showed me that someone other than my mother could love me. ââ¬â Guy Doud In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something else. ââ¬â Lee Iacocca What else is needed is something that teachers themselves are reluctant to talk about openly and itââ¬â¢s our respect for them. Itââ¬â¢s what is missing in America, and itââ¬â¢s what has been too long withheld from a profession so important to our national well being, as important as doctors or captains of industry or TV commentators. From sunup to sundown, the school teachers you have seen tonight work harder than you do ââ¬â no matter what you do. No calling in our society is more demanding than teaching. No calling in our society is more selfless than teaching. No calling in our society is more central to the vitality of a democracy than teaching. ââ¬â Roger Mudd To me the sole hope of human salvation lies in teaching. ââ¬â George Bernard Shaw Each of these quotes speaks to me, not merely because I am a teacher, although that is part of it. Like Guy Doud, I am in part a teacher because of other teachers, and love ââ¬â directly expressed or not ââ¬â was certainly part of it. It was my AP American History teacher Thomas Rock who challenged me to live up to what I could do, and it was Music Professor John Davison who demonstrated the deep love for every student who passed through his care, including me. I hope that I return both lessons with my own students. I know the importance of respect. I cannot demand it from my students but must earn it, in large part by acting with respect towards them. It might be helpful were the media and many politicians and far too many parents not reinforcing a different attitude. In part it is because we do not pay teachers, and if they make so little, they cannot be that important, right? Except, as I might note, in one 45 minute period I spend more quality time with some of my students than they get from their parents, which is a different tragedy. Our society needs to reexamine how we value people, and not have such an emphasis on money and overt power. The Henry Adams quote is one I have long cherished. The affects of my own teachers continue on me today. And I have now taught long enough to be no longer be surprised at some of the students who come back to thank me. It worries me that some of my long-term affects upon students might not be so salutary, which is one reason I try to be aware of how my words and actions can have impact far beyond their immediate purpose. I am only in my 13th year of teaching, but am already experiencing some of what Mary Bicouvaris writes about. If you are a parent, you have every right to demand that your childrenââ¬â¢s teachers see them as individuals, but please remember yours may be one of almost 200 children that teacher deals with every day. If you want more personal attention for your child, demand smaller classrooms, lower student loads per teacher so that they are capable of giving that attention. If you are a policy maker, remember that the decisions you make can support or prevent the kind of teaching environment that makes a difference in the life of a child. Teaching is about much more than cramming information into heads so that it can be given back on high stakes tests which really do not tell us all that much useful information. All of us have had teachers. And even if we were too shy, or too stubborn, to express our thanks at the time, we can always drop a note or make a call, or if possible stop by and say hello, and thank those who made a difference for us. Sometimes we worry about the students who pass through our care, that we did not do enough, care enough, and it can help a teacher who is wondering whether to continue the struggle to hear of the differences s/he made. Sometimes that can be the one thing that keeps a teacher going for one more year. I know I can make a difference. And I am not making these requests on my own behalf. But while I claim to speak for no one except myself, I also acknowledge that I have a voice ââ¬â and a keyboard ââ¬â that seems to be able to express in ways others may not be able to, to reach eyes and ears and minds to which many do not have access. So this is my offering today. It is about the importance of teachers. You probably already know about that importance, but I figured a gentle reminder might not hurt. However, monetization attaches a revenue stream to social media content. This monetization can be financial or psychic. Psychic income is defined as value that is not expressed in monetary form (Solomon, 2015). Like other businesses, social media providers need to earn money. To do so, they need to create a monetization strategy as a part of the companyââ¬â¢s business model. A successful monetization strategy attracts consumers to the marketerââ¬â¢s content. By measuring who is viewing the content, the social media provider can determine how much a marketer should pay to place their promoted content (Tuten Solomon, 2013). In the article, ââ¬Å"The State of Social Media,â⬠Martin looks toward the future of soà ¬cial media and discusses the ample possibilities and potential pitfalls (2015). In the healthcare profession nurses are trained to give competent care to all persons regardless of race, age, and cultural belief. The term competent means having the ability, skill and knowledge to accomplish a task in a successful way (Hicks 2012). The increasing multicultural population in the United States of America introduces a challenge to nurses on providing cultural competent care to patients. This requires nurses to observe cultural differences in healthcare values and beliefs. Culturally competent nursing care helps the patient and families to have a positive outcome with healthcare experience. The American Nurses Association (ANA) states ââ¬Å"nurses should practice with compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of every personâ⬠(Winland-Brown, Lachman Oââ¬â¢Connor Swanson 2015). This medium of art created a palette of purity and hope though automatism and use of dreams. The Surrealists strove for simplicity and spontaneity or as some called it, automatism. They wanted to answer the question how shall I be free? and to express thought without any tainted preconceptions. They believed automatism would reveal the true and individual nature of anyone who practiced it, far more completely than could any of his conscious creations. For automatism was the most perfect means for reaching and tapping the unconscious. Stangos 125 This free style of expression, first used in literary circles headed by Andre Breton and then by painters like Max Ernst, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali and RenÃÆ'à © Magritte, upheld the Dadaist rejection of traditional forms of art. However, by portraying a field of unconscious thought and thereby, following an uncontaminated reality, the surrealists avoided the horrors of premeditated warfare and political, social and economic lies and injustices. We will write a custom essay on Surrealism specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Surrealist theorists found Surrealism to be: a certain point of the mind at which life and death, the real and the imaginary, the past and the future, the communicable and the incommunicable, the heights and the depths, cease to be perceived contradictably. Now it is in vain that one would seek any other motive for Surrealist activity than determining this point. Stangos 134 By using ones unconscious mind, the imagination in a primitive state, Stangos 126 Surrealism found a place where contradictory thoughts might not serve as dichotomies. Free of a socially constructed point of view or raison, a writer or artist travels to a place of thinking that is both irrational and rational at the same time. Through the unconscious or a highly sensitized state of mind, the surrealist brought forth a new manner of seeing and feeling the world as it was understood and negotiated by Western peoples. In its development, Surrealism celebrated the art of children, mad people and primitive art. The Surrealists believed in the innocent eye. They found that art produced by young children was more real than that produced by adults since the art of adults was usually repressed and contaminated. The Surrealists often played childrens games like the one where each player draws a head, body or legs then folds the paper after his turn so that his contribution is not seen. The strange images that resulted provided Joan Miro and others with inspiration for works, such as The Harlequins Carnival. Stangos 127 In addition to this technique, Max Ernst, in 1925, began using a childs technique which led him in his direction of art for the next two decades. The technique was termed frottage, or rubbing. It involved placing a piece of paper over a textured surface and then rubbing it with a pencil to record the texture. Afterwards, the images produced would be rearranged and the results were new images and associations from these initial rubbings. These images would then go on to become inspiration and the groundwork for paintings and sculptures. Ordinary forms and objects were used to create art. The Surrealists saw an object and created art out of it because of the feelings that object inspired or what that object lent itself to be transformed into. In addition to the childlike innocence the Surrealist sought, looked into his dreams and into his childhood for ideas for his art. The Surrealists looked towards dreams because they believed dreams were thoughts and imaginations in the primitive state. Dreams were part of the unconscious, and the unconscious was untainted. In the beginning of the Surrealist period, artists used hypnotism and drugs to venture into the unconscious state to extract images, word and ideas. Andre Breton said that these images and feelings could not be had in the conscious state. .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad , .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .postImageUrl , .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad , .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:hover , .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:visited , .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:active { border:0!important; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:active , .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uda051019b7a472b7127ec71d26a4fdad:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: In what ways has Surrealism influenced fashion EssayQuite often, the Surrealists would create dream-like scenes and scenarios which would otherwise be impossible in the natural world. Salvador Dali once said the only difference between himself and a madman was that he was not mad. His paintings were often a bizarre and erotic dream world influenced by dreams and his fear of sex. Dali painted with a photographic like accuracy and used bright intense colors that made his works look alive. However, his subjects were obviously static because of the dream like scenes surrounding them. He described the theoretical basis of his paintings as paranoiac-critical: the creation of visionary reality from elements of visions, dreams, memories and psychological or pathological distortions through the use of familiar objects such as watches, insects and telephone and the primary images of blood decay and excrement. Wheeler 291 Dalis images gradually transformed into a visual nightmare such as the melting watches of The Persistence of Memory. Like the impossibilities of Dalis scenes, RenÃÆ'à © Magritte painted reality with an illusionistic twist. In The Human Condition and other works, Magritte uses illusion to fool the eye into thinking something is what it really is not. In The Human Condition, the eye is fooled into believing that the painting is of a landscape being viewed through a window. In reality, the painting is of a painting on an easel in front of a window containing the view outside that window. Magritte also demonstrates this illusionistic quality in The False Mirror where the iris of the painted eye is filled with a sky scene. Surrealists were seeking pure, untainted and spontaneous. utvebmapuzz1974http://www.blogger.com/profile/04987147996829275378noreply@blogger.com0
